Q: How fast are Hydrobikes?
A: Hydrobikes are capable of going 10 miles an hour. You’ll probably go about 3-4 miles per hour. You’ll go about 7 miles per hour if you’re an avid bike rider.
Q: How far can I ride?
A: On average, 2-3 miles in about an hour. Friend of Long Beach Hydrobikes, Matt Thomas, recently rode a hydrobike 26 miles back from Catalina in about 8 hours!

A: No, not yet.
Q: Do you take credit cards?
A: Yes. We take American Express, Mastercard, Visa and Discover.
Q: What if someone can’t reach the pedals?
A: They can ride on one of our side-by-side bikes with two other people.
Q: Can you stop on the beach on a Hydrobike?
A: Yes! We’ll show you how to beach a Hydrobike when you arrive.
Q: What is provided on my Hydrobike Holiday Lights Tour?
A: You will be provided with a cozy Santa hat, hot chocolate, apple cider, cup holders, decorated Hydrobikes, a tour guide and holiday spirit!! Dress warm and comfortably! Check out our What to Wear page too.
Q: How long is my Holiday Lights Tour?
A: Your reservation will last an hour and a half. It includes a quick how-to-ride lesson, optional decorating, boarding, hot chocolate and/or apple cider pouring. It is crucial to be on time since you will be in a tour group departing promptly. If you are late, we will do our very best to accomodate you at a later time or day but cannot guarantee it.
Q: Can children ride?
A: In order to pedal their legs must be between 25 and 26 inches to ride. They can ride on the center platform of one of our side-by-side bikes if they can’t reach. Here’s a picture of our side-by-side bikes (aka double doubles). Press the back button to return to this page.
Q: How many people can go out at once?
A: 20 people total. 17 riders pedaling and 3 more riders sitting on the middle platform of the side-by-side bikes.
